Exciting news!! We are happy to announce that the TKC has secured Greenbelt Foundation funding to improve water quality in Kilbride Creek. Kilbride Ck. is a tributary in the Bronte Creek Watershed located within Ontario's Greenbelt Region. In its lower reach, this waterway is experiencing erosion of its escarpment bank that is impacting water quality. Through targeted stream restoration actions, this project will support the resilience of a natural Greenbelt area, the Bronte Creek ESA/ANSI, by regaining physical structure in this tributary section and promoting good fish and wildlife habitat.
Ontario's Greenbelt is supported by Greenbelt Foundation investment & stewardship and contributes $9.6 billion annually to Ontario's GDP, supports 177,700 full-time or equivalent jobs, and provides Ontario communities with $3.2 billion worth of ecosystem services each year.
